At Branch River Ranch, we place a strong emphasis on the importance of top quality foundation mares as they are the basis of our breeding program. Through our carefully planned breeding program, we are able to define exactly what our foundation mares are capable of producing. By having this understanding of our mares, and also of our stallions, we are able to produce the very best qualities in our offspring and introduce these remarkable qualities to other breeds, as well.

• Reina del Sol ( Castiblanco III x Mariah ) - 1991 grey pure Spanish National Champion mare and producer of National Champion offspring. She passes on to her offspring wonderful temperament, large bone, kind triangular eye and a willingness to achieve the desired goals. Reina's offspring include El Nino BR, DeApollo BR, Macanudo BR, Zelia del Sol BR and Eclipse BR. She is bred to National Champion Gabeno for a 2007 foal. • Rhianna BR ( Lusiadas x Mia ) - 2001 buckskin filly with fantastic extensions and high stepping movement. Her willingness to learn and aim to please makes working with her a pleasure. Her first year under saddle as a three year old, she received several first place ribbons in Country Pleasure Jr Horse, Best Movement, and Three & Four Year Old Fillies. Rhianna also has a spectacular show year in 2006. She is bred to Saphiro for a 2007 foal, which has already been sold in utero. • Mia ( Principe XIII x Angelina Celaro ) - 1992 grey pure Spanish National Champion mare and producer of National Champions. Her foals come in all colors including bay, buckskin, chestnut and gray. She has great movement and produces our best offspring. In 2004, Mia earned a US National Top Five Produce of Dam title. Her offspring include National Champion Lucea BR, Rossa Lita BR, National Champion Rhianna BR, Lusiadas II BR, Xeomaro BR and her new 2007 colt, Navado who is by our National Champion stallion, Gentil MOR. • Presiosa del Sol ( Fandango del Sol x Gitana Del Sol ) - 2006 inscribed pure Spanish black filly. This beautiful filly has an impressive lineage which includes: Leviton (Yeguada Militar) in the Book of Merits L.I.M.P.R.E; Paraiso (Lovera) in the Book of Merits L.I.M.P.R.E;, Jardinero V (Yeguada Militar); Nevado III; Usada 1956 (Yeguada Militar) & Agente (Yeguada Militar).

• Macarena del Sol ( Fandando del Sol x Muneca TVC ) - 2004 pure Spanish revised black filly. This filly has an impeccable pedigree which includes: Odalisca (Lovera) in the Book of Merits L.I.M.P.R.E; Genil (Cardenas) Champion of Spain Sicab; Dejado II (Escalera); Belico II (Cartujano); Diablura ll (Escalera & Cardenas); Intrusa II (Escalera) and Gandor VII (Escalera). Macarena has been started under saddle and will be competing in halter and dressage classes this year.
